Our first viticulture started back in the 1960s in the area of Farai, Achaea. It was a small cultivated area of 10 acres, consisting of the Achaea variety “roditis – alepou” and “mavroudi”. Our grandfather Christos Ch. Kolyperas was a hands-on winemaker and one of the first and most influential in the local community.
The expansion of our vineyards in the area of Farai of Achaia, in an area of more than 100 acres with local PDO and international PGI varieties such as Roditi, Mavrodaphne of Patras, Moschato of Patras, Asirtiko, Chardonnay, Ugni Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache Rouge
Our professional ``trip`` in the magic world of wine begins with the construction of our first winery by the Kolyperas Brothers and the promotion of international PGI and local PDO varieties through their production and distribution in the domestic market.
With the modernization of our Winery and the increase of our production, we have emphasized on the bottling of international PGI wines such as Chardonnay, Ugni Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and local PDO such as Roditis, Moscato of Patras and Mavrodaphne Of Patras
After 25 years of winemaking, the Kolyperas Brothers pass on the winery to the oenologist Christos D. Kolyperas (Dott. In Viticoltura Ed Enologia, Facolta Di Agraria, Ancona-Italia) and to his sister Vasiliki D. Kolyperas (Graduate in Sociology, University of Crete)
Our passion for exploring the beneficial properties of red wine and our love for innovation, after 2 years of research in collaboration with renowned academics, has given us the registration of our first patent for the reducing alcohol in wine by 0% ABV with non-thermal processes and the increase of polyphenols in red wines
